Gooseneck kettles exist because standard kettle spouts deliver water too fast and too wide for precision pouring. Pour-over methods — V60, Chemex, Kalita Wave — require a thin, steady stream targeted at a precise area of the coffee bed to control extraction evenly. The AromaPour’s narrow curved spout restricts flow rate to approximately 6–8ml per second at a natural pour angle, giving enough time to observe and adjust the pour as the bloom develops. This level of control makes the difference between an even extraction and an uneven one that produces bitterness or flatness.

Temperature matters because different coffees and brewing methods extract optimally at different temperatures. Light roasts benefit from higher temperatures (93–96°C) to extract fully developed flavors without underlining; dark roasts brew cleanly at lower temperatures (88–92°C) where their more soluble compounds don’t over-extract. Green tea is scalded above 80°C, while white tea and most herbals brew best between 70–80°C. The AromaPour’s 1-degree increment control lets you dial in the exact temperature your brew method calls for rather than guessing at “just off the boil.”

The 60-minute hold mode maintains target temperature without re-boiling, which matters for brewing sessions where you’re making multiple cups or working slowly. The LCD display on the handle shows the actual water temperature in real time as it heats and holds — useful when you’re pulling precise data points on a brew recipe. The 0.8-liter capacity is intentionally sized for specialty coffee use: large enough for a full Chemex batch, small enough to heat quickly and not require pouring out lukewarm leftover water at the end of a single-cup session.
