Ember Ceramic Mug Set

Reactive glazes work by allowing iron and other minerals in the glaze to migrate and concentrate differently depending on kiln temperature gradients, thickness of application, and firing position. The result is that no two mugs from any batch are identical — the set has a cohesive visual language (the same base glaze colors) but each individual mug has a different flame pattern, color concentration, and texture at the surface. They look intentionally matched but individually interesting.

The stoneware body is fired at high temperature, creating a dense, non-porous clay body that retains heat longer than earthenware and handles daily dishwasher cycles without crazing or fading. The comfortable C-handle has a generous interior radius that accommodates gloves or large hands equally well, and the handle’s wall thickness is consistent throughout — it won’t crack at the handle join, which is where most mugs fail over time.

At 12oz, these mugs work for everything from a double espresso to a full French press serving to a large matcha latte. The slightly wider base relative to height — 3.4 inches across, 3.8 inches tall — creates a naturally stable silhouette that doesn’t tip easily on a desk.
